What Others Say

Secluded, yet close to town. Accommodations are very comfortable with all of the necessities. Good-sized swimming pool. The rooftop area provides outstanding views and the opportunity to take in the natural beauty of the desert and its abundant wildlife. Highly recommend.

Tubac is a special place in the Sonoran desert about 45 miles south of Tucson AZ. Gracious and friendly people, shops that offer unique products from elegant mesquite furniture to distinctive southwestern art. The best way to experience Tubac is to stay in the casita offered by Heinz and Gisela. Located just a few minutes from shopping and dining, the casita offers visitors comfortable, quiet and cozy accommodations that invite you to relax and recharge. We have stayed in the casita many times during our visits to Tubac and had the opportunity to meet people on our morning walks and marvel at the inspiring views of shadows drifting across mountain slopes. The casita is beautifully appointed and private as well. After shopping in Tubac, return to your casita and take a refreshing dip in the pool!

My husband and I were supposed to spend a week at a friends’ house in Tubac when we found out that their place had been flooded.  We ended up staying at the Hohendorf’s casita and it was a marvelous experience.  The casita has one bedroom and a full kitchen.  It is very quiet, clean and dust free.  The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a big walk-in shower, with lots of hot water.  The satellite TV is great, as is the high-speed internet connection. There’s a nice shady front porch to enjoy on warmer days and lots to do nearby – golf, hiking, biking etc.  The Hohendorf’s are very personable and generous without being overly chatty or intrusive. We highly recommend the casita and would stay in it again anytime.
